Even then, existing data often contradicts the climate attribution. Taking a hypothesis, testing it, and then revising it based on the results used to be a thing called the “scientific method,” but apparently many in the media find that too boring and choose to spread unverified claims instead. ........Creating climate anxiety is explicitly the goal of media climate reporting. Bombarding their audiences with scare stories, facts to the contrary be damned, is aimed at motivating people into “taking action” and supporting severe restrictions on fossil-fuel use. Survivors of a natural disaster may also struggle with PTSD or similar ailments, but it doesn’t mean that climate change is the cause. China also happens to have a near monopoly on “green” tech manufacturing, and stands to gain a lot from the West’s “transition.” I’d argue that the greatest human health threat is actually climate policy, because it is destabilizing the electric power grid, increasing food insecurity, and encouraging the world’s people to be increasingly reliant on the good will of the Chinese Communist Party. Here’s the authors’ abstract: .........<span style="font-family: "times new roman", times, serif; font-size: 18.64px;">There are two actual, stubborn facts to note. First, the Earth’s climate has been changing without pause since it came into being. Indeed, the Earth is incredibly dynamic. I live near the South Carolina coast. Although I’m several miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean, there is sand everywhere. That’s because my neck of the woods used to be the bottom of a primeval ocean. In the same way, the Sahara Desert was once a verdant primeval forest. The Earth’s climate changed, and humans adapted because that’s what they do.
<p style="font-family: "times new roman", times, serif; font-size: 18.64px; margin: 0px 0px 10px;">Second, plants need CO2. I happen to know some (legal) marijuana growers who pump CO2 into their indoor crop to facilitate its growth. More CO2, not less CO2, is good for human beings.
<p style="font-family: "times new roman", times, serif; font-size: 18.64px; margin: 0px 0px 10px;">That leftists are so terrified of something that makes food more, rather than less, available for people across the planet tells you everything you need to know about their long-term agenda for humankind. The favored people will live in comfortable enclaves with good food of the type routinely served at World Economic Forum gatherings. As a result, prices are rocketing across the continent, with the ripple effects already being felt by businesses and consumers.

-----

From the comments:

"This certainly has to do with Russian sanctions, but that isn’t the whole story… by any stretch. The serious misery we are only just beginning to experience is far
more the result of decades of short-termist policy making re energy
security, and pandering (and I would argue ‘elite capture’ – an almost
cult-like groupthink among the elite/governing classes) and their naive
wholesale stampede toward the ruinous policy of Net Zero …well before we

And yes, it’s got worse since 2015 with undeliverable policies on gas

worse.
All political parties have been singing from the same hymn sheet and now we haven’t got a prayer."

"This article completely misses the point – this energy and cost of
living crisis was not caused by western leaders’ failure to appease an
aggressive tyrant’s unprovoked invasion of a democratic neighbour, but
by them adopting energy policies which allowed them to become dependent
on and at the mercy of this particular tyrant for many of their energy
needs in the first place. An ultra-nationalist bully like Vladimir Putin
was always going to start a major war eventually, and now he has."

"If the West had not thoroughly embraced Green energy and gone away from
reliable, cheap coal and nuclear it would not be in the big crunch it is

It will take more than 100 years to displace fossil fuels, if they even
need to be displaced (AGW is BS). What is the big rush? Why immiserate
the people for a pipe dream? (Oh, yeah, it makes them feel virtuous!)"

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
