Do you know what makes up your bill?

Editorial:
Here in the UK if you look at your utility bills you may get a slight shock... Gas bills have been quietly hiked up by adding 4% tax for the 'Government environmental contribution'. Looking at your electricity bill will reveal that 8% tax has been added, again for the Government environmental contribution. This is so Gordon Brown can go and give that money to another country for, well, nothing in return by buying 'Carbon Credits'.
Telegraph:
"And here’s the great thing about it. Unlike traditional commodities markets, which will eventually involve delivery to someone in physical form, the carbon market is based on lack of delivery of an invisible substance to no-one. Since the market revolves around creating carbon credits, or finding carbon reduction projects whose benefits can then be sold to those with a surplus of emissions, it is entirely intangible."
