Freezing fog shrouds countryside as holly crop hints we are in for a harsh winter

"Rising out of the autumn mist, majestic Glastonbury Tor towers above the Somerset countryside after a freezing night across the country.In Scotland, the mercury dipped as low as -6.8C in Tulloch Bridge while in England an overnight low of -4.9C was recorded in Topcliffe, North Yorkshire.The chilly overnight conditions came as holly trees produced a bumper crop of berries, which according to folklore suggests a harsh winter will follow.
