Shale gas: the battle for Balcombe’s riches

Telegraph
"At present, Cuadrilla is focused on the Blackpool area – one of the most deprived regions in the country – where, it says, it has found enough shale gas to meet national needs for decades. But much of Britain is believed to contain exploitable resources, with other hotspots including Scotland, South Wales, Somerset – as well as Kent, Surrey and Sussex. ......The shale phenomenon is worldwide and could – the International Energy Agency estimates – supply 250 years of gas, at present levels of consumption.
