"NEW DELHI: After heavy snowfall in the hills, Delhi caught the chill on Thursday. Icy northerlies blew through the day while the minimum recorded at the city's main weather station was 4 degrees Celsius - the second lowest temperature recorded in February in at least the past 10 years. Lodhi Road station showed a minimum of 2.6 degrees Celsius and Palam 3.4 degrees as the Met office declared a cold wave in Delhi with the minimum temperature five degrees below normal. A Met official said the cold was an after-effect of the western disturbance that brought snow to the hills. Thursday's minimum was also the lowest temperature in the city in 2012. In the past 10 years, the lowest minimum recorded in Delhi in February was 2.9 degrees Celsius in 2008."
