Watch this video of what happens in an “ice out” from the nearby lake Mille Lacs, you can actually watch the ice advance. In a matter of minutes the wind pushes the ice about 15 feet from the shore to the doors and windows of lakeside homes. While this isn’t the same mechanism as ice-age type glaciation, it is fascinating to watch."
