Household bills to rise to fund energy revolution

"But there are fears that other proposals in the blueprint could lead to a rapid rise in the cost of household bills. It is believed energy bills are likely to increase by at least £300 a year per household to fund financial support for the wind industry and other renewable projects. There are also warnings that energy firms will be forced to pass further costs on to the customer to cover the construction of nuclear plants. Ministers pledged they would not subsidise new reactors. "
